Weather, Weather, Everywhere

Up bright and early this morning. Today is part two of a two day weather course (Basic Marine Meteorology Workshop) that David and I are taking. The two days go from 8-5 and are taught by this weather guru at the Merchant Marine weather center about an hour from West Palm. The class was something that I felt more the need to do out of necessity wanting to be armed with as much knowledge as possible. Well as it turns out, this stuff is quite fascinating! We’re learning everything from the ground up to the big picture. I now know about the atmosphere, isobars, the 500mb, cloud formation, and the midlattitudes…and that’s for starters. At times it can be a bit granular – A LOT bit granular but then next thing you know, he’s on to something else and it clicks. I figure absorption is key since most of this will make much greater sense once I am actually using it.
Funny the things I am learning and coming to have a greater appreciation for…
