Paradise Found

We spent a week on Conception Island, an uninhabited island in the southern Bahamas and it is no exaggeration when I say to you that it is the most beautiful place that I have ever seen! David caught his first fish the day before yesterday as did some friends that we met back in Georgetown and have been hanging out with here. We cooked up a feast the other night and it was heavenly. There is beautiful hiking along the cliffs and a long white sand beach for walking with sand so soft it feels like flour under your feet. The water is clearer than any water I have seen and shades of blue that you can’t possibly have known existed. Being here you truly feel as though you are at the end of the world. I can’t help but to feel that this is what God had in mind. It is indeed a special place that will always live in my heart and mind. Yesterday we spent the morning turtle watching in an estuary. It is so beautiful to watch them swim. They move so quickly and with such precision and grace. We also saw sting rays and nurse sharks. David took some great photos. B/c the island is a national park, we could not collect sea shells so I hope you enjoy the little shell montage that we put together instead.
