Biking on Culebra

Yesterday we spent a fun day of bicycling across the beautiful island of Culebra (the Spanish Virgin Islands). I don’t know that I have ever ridden up more hills in my life but the 7 mile ride was worth it when we came out on the eastern side of the island to breathtaking views of pristine beaches. We spared ourselves and did not ride down the last hill knowing that it would only mean a grueling ride back up and we just could not fathom yet another hill knowing even great ones awaited us on the return ride. So we locked the bikes and good footed it the remaining quarter of a mile. Sweaty and worn we jumped into the water and spent the remainder of the afternoon lounged under a canopy of trees. Ahhh (aside from the biting ants) it was paradise!
