Day One

We are having a beautiful day of sailing. 15 knots of wind on a nice beam reach. We haven’t turned the engine on yet and will be so grateful if our passage continues on like this. David caught a beautiful tuna within an hour of setting out and it is already filleted and in the freezer. We’ll save it for the next leg to share with the guys when they join us. The boats have started to spread out and I think we are somewhere in the middle of the pack with the larger boats ahead of us and the smaller ones behind.
We had our first whale siting just a bit ago. I will never tire of watching whales jump. Hopefully we’ll get some good shots to post later. Whales to our left and a lovely rainbow to our right…so far, so good.
