Photos From Rota

Here are some photos from our time in Rota (David is the resident photographer…I just write the blogs so can’t take credit for his photography magic). The church here was one of the most special that we have seen with its painted ceilings (sorry I don’t have any pics of them). I loved the square off of the church and it was a great place to sit and people watch.

We’ve been trying to adjust our internal clocks to the European lifestyle of siestas late meals. We kept getting it wrong when we would try to have lunch around noon only to find out that places don’t even open for lunch until around 2. It took a lot of work and a little napping, but in Rota, we finally started to get it right and could be found enjoying a midnight supper. But just as we were feeling sleepy and proud of ourselves for being up so late, we would inevitably encounter families full of old and very young still out strolling the squares and just getting started on the evening.

We continue to meet up with Moonstruck which has been fun. It always feels like this great surprise when you bump into your boat friends in a new port even though it makes perfect sense that you would given that we are all moving east.
