T Minus 24 Hours

We had our safety inspection yesterday and passed which is pleasing and a bit of a relief given that we have been scrambling for the past few days to get a few items that we did not have. Among a host of many other things, David has our additional diesel jugs lashed down, he’s changed the oil and the fuel filters, he’s attached soft wood plugs to all of the thru hulls, and replaced the hot water heater (a monster of a job!). I’ve defrosted, cleaned, and organized the freezer and fridge as well as all of our food lockers, I’ve cleaned the boat from top to bottom, I’ve assembled our ditch kit (abandon ship kit), took apart, reorganized and supplemented our medical kit, created information documents for the guys when they arrive, provisioned, and today I will prepare three days worth of meals to get us started for the crossing. Needless to say, we are well on our way. The heat has us feeling quite sluggish and anxious to get going so that the preparations can cease and we can enjoy breeze it will bring. For now we are off to fuel up.
I’m including a photo of the view of a beach here b/c I feel like everyone needs to see it b/c it clearly looks like it’s straight out of a Corona ad! And get this, we haven’t even been in that water…a travesty!
